Waterproof Solar Installation Case Study in Dangsan-dong
"Transforming conventional solar panels into a 'waterproof solar roofing structure'"
For this project, we completed the installation using BIPV KOREA’s patented Waterproof Solar Structure design.
With conventional solar installations, rainwater can seep through the gaps between panels, making it difficult for the solar panels themselves to function as a roof. The core of this system lies in integrating the PV module, specialized frame, waterproofing structure, and drainage system into a single unit that simultaneously generates power and serves as a roof.
▪︎BIPV WATERPROOF SYSTEM▪︎
•Integrated Waterproof Structure
Combines PV modules with specialized frames to create a roofing structure
•Rainwater Management
Features waterproof module joints and an internal drainage system
•Minimal Need for Additional Roofing
Solar panels serve as both power generation equipment and the building's exterior skin
•Sleek Architectural Finish
Achieves a more cohesive roof design compared to standard solar structures
•Suitable for Existing Buildings
Applicable to various structures, including rooftop canopies, parking lots, factories, and commercial facilities
°SOLAR PANEL → WATERPROOF SOLAR ROOF
Going beyond simply mounting solar panels on a roof,
"A structure where the solar system itself becomes the roof."
BIPV KOREA does not focus solely on power generation;
We develop, design, and install a "BIPV SYSTEM that integrates architecture, waterproofing, structural integrity, drainage, design, and energy production into one."
°TURN ANY SOLAR MODULE INTO A WATERPROOF STRUCTURE.
